How To Quit Smoking - Why Is There So Much Resistance To Quitting?

A recent television news programme showed a medical expert discussing the difficulties people have when trying to answer the vexing question, how to quit smoking.

She believed that those who are trying to quit find it much more difficult now than in the past. She suggested that all those who could quit easily have already done so. She also believed that many people who quit will need to use nicotine replacement therapies for life.

The reality is that there are a small number of people who do have a great deal of difficulty quitting and may need a multi approach for their success, but for most people nothing has changed.

The important message is not to accept the notion that it will be very hard for you. If you do then it will be very hard for you. I'm a great believer in the old saying by Henry Ford: "If you think you can or you think you can't then either way you are right"

The fact is that the majority of smokers can quit with very little stress, providing they are given the right assistance. This is critical, cold turkey works for very few, most find it too hard and frustrating and become discouraged..

Having to stay on nicotine for your whole life to me is un acceptable, and very much a medical pharmaceutical answer to a problem that can be solved with the right input

For most smokers the secret is to address all the triggers and habits and beliefs which are lurking in their sub conscious mind. This is done with advanced hypnosis and NLP. No drugs required.

So you currently smoke and you have lots of thoughts that keep you doing it. Think back to a time when you were 100% certain about something, only to find out later that you were wrong.

Initially there would have been a conflict between your new understanding and your old belief. But soon you would have formed a new set of beliefs to support your new position.

This is similar to quitting smoking. First you are conflicted about quitting, then through hypnosis you release the old beliefs and take on board the new thoughts. Soon your new beliefs are supporting your new life a s non smoker.

It sounds simple, and in fact it is as long as you do it properly! Cold turkey and medical drugs don't do this, and that is why most who quit this way soon become smokers again.
